interference

Around this time period, I was using card stock as my primary medium.  I had previously found that the glue (rubber cement) I was using to affix the paper had a tendency to bleach some of the colors, so I began laminating just the glue-side to mitigate this.
This piece went through several incarnations before it achieved its final form.  I started with the idea of incorporating some themes from nature, but was unsatisfied with how it was shaping up.  You can see a few of my attempts, below.
Finally, I got completely fed up and abandoned the hippie vibe in favor of full-on abstract and just layered black/white/gray over everything.  In the last photo, I tried applying some horizontal lines as well, but ultimately removed them in favor of the pure vertical flow.
